Soldiers of peace

On October 1st, I participated in a workshop with 39 people where we created a soldier for peace with clay... Please read, visit her website and find out how you can participate in one of her future sessions...Suzanne

Created for peace
And notCreated against war,
A flame for peace
That, symbolically,
We all carry within us
Let this become a reality
So that the world that is to be,
May manifest itself

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
ART PROJECT DEDICATED TO PEACE
By Claude Desjardins

Meet Claude Desjardins

Environmentally Guided Sculptress

Claude is a seeker of truth through the material world. She creates in order to give meaning to her life. She has explored many different approaches in her quest to understand how the environment affects the human being. She creates as a way of trying to discover how nature can help her reconnect with ancient wisdom and teachings. Her work is an ongoing process. Using natural resources within her environment, she comes in contact, experiments with, and learns about the sacred essence of life. From the invisible to the visible, the work of a being is never completed. The being evolves with the creator’s level of consciousness.

One of the most important aspects of her creative process is the participation of the community. She needs to have the vision of others in order to understand the meaning of her work; the meaning of her life. She has a story that illustrates why it is so important. She says that when we are sitting around a bonfire, everybody is in a circle looking at the fire. Everybody has a unique vision of the fire. Each time someone puts a piece of wood in the fire, it changes not only the person's view, but also a neighbor's perspective. So, to Claude the responsibility of any human being is to name what is personally seen in the fire and to nourish it. And when we express our uniqueness, we help the collective to grow.
